Living Free In Enemy Territory. Christ’s Triumph Over Satan.
Greg Dutcher.

Living Free In Enemy Territory, by author and pastor Greg Dutcher, presents the devil according to scripture, not myths. The author does a great job teaching this topic. The book warns of the dangers we need to be aware of concerning Satan but the main intent of the book is highlighting Christ’s triumph at the cross for us.
“My aim is to put a spotlight on the supremacy and beauty of Jesus Christ.” page 126
This book is a short paperback. Each chapter ends with questions for reflection which I thought were a helpful and insightful part of each chapter. There were also footnotes throughout the book that referenced other books on the topic as well as a page of recommended reading in the back of the book.
In the afterword, “Why The Armor Of God Is Not A Chapter In This Book”, Greg Dutcher gives his reasons why he didn’t include reference to Ephesians 6 in this book. I enjoyed the insight he gives into Ephesians 6:10 together with Isaiah 59:14-16.
Living Free In Enemy Territory was encouraging as it exposed our enemy in the light of scripture. I have a clearer understanding of the devil; I am more appreciative of Christ’s victory and the freedom it brings me.
I was eager to read this book because I enjoyed Greg Dutcher’s first book, You Are The Treasure That I Seek. ( Read my review HERE) He has a conversation-style writing and he includes plenty of pertinent scripture. I highly recommend both of his books. He has become one of my favorite authors.
Excerpts from Chapter 4 “Showdown – A Preview Of The Cosmic Clash”.
“So we have every reason to be filled with hope. In Jesus, Satan has met not just his match, but his superior. And while he may bring everything in his power against us, he cannot contend with our Savior”.
“What does His victory over the Devil mean to you today?”
