Big Dipper

I always have candles on hand.  I use them for the occasional emergency lighting situation and for their alluring ambiance. But candle shopping can be difficult. Finding a candle that doesn’t have synthetic fragrance and that will actually produce a quality burn is difficult. I’ve never tried beeswax candles before so I was intrigued to see what they were like . Here is my review of Big Dipper Wax Works.

I’ve learned that beeswax candles are better for the environment. They burn cleaner, longer, and brighter.  Read here about why you should burn Beeswax.

Big Dipper has a large selection of candles. I am still burning my Natural Beeswax Pillar, 6 oz. Beeswax Aromatherapy Beehive Glass candle (Harmony), and the Eco-pot from the Herb Garden Collection (Lavender, Rosemary, and Mint).

My favorite is the Natural Beeswax Pillar with its subtle natural sweetness.

Harmony is a blend of beeswax and essential oils of lavender and geranium.

   The Herb Garden candle is packaged in a biodegradable planting pot made from bamboo husks and rice hulls. It comes with a seed packet.

The candles are handmade with cotton wicks and the aromatherapy candles use only pure essential oils. With such long burn times, I’ll get more enjoyment from my candles. The pillar has an un”bee”lievable burn time of 60 hours.

Big Dipper is a Green America approved business located in Seattle. They donate 10% of the net profits from all candle sales “to organizations dedicated to outreach, education, and sustainability efforts devoted to promoting sustainable beekeeping. “

It think it’s a great idea to bee Eco friendly and use beeswax candles from Big Dipper.
