This blog was started in June 2011 as part of a home school writing project. Notes From Dawn is in its second year, and I thank you for visiting, subscribing, and commenting! I’m glad that you have enjoyed viewing and much as I have enjoyed creating. My blog is an assortment of reviews, photos, and recipes. It’s fun to share these things with whoever cares to read about them.

Please note: My product reviews are to introduce you, my readers, to new discoveries. My intent is to share my findings and not to write opinionated blog posts.

And consider: I am certainly not a “green” expert, but I realize that it takes just a little effort and some simple changes to make a fairly big impact. The simple changes might seem minuscule but it all adds up and it makes you feel good; more grateful, less wasteful.

About my recipes – I am totally for natural, healthy food. And I believe in recipes that anyone can make.

About my product reviews – I promote lots of eco-friendly items that are helpful and enjoyable to us while also being kind to the environment. I’m not religiously strict in consumer use but I lean toward choosing better products that stem from wise stewardship. Additionally, I have quite a few home school related reviews. I have never once regretted the decision to home school and love finding good curriculum and products to use.

About my book reviews – Reading can be just as dangerous as the television or the internet unless you use it wisely. My reading is very selective. I evaluate everything I read and measure it to what scripture says. It’s that simple.

About my photos – I got a new digital camera this last Christmas(2011) and since then I stumble on things to capture. It’s never planned and it’s always a surprise to see what turns out.

About me - The most important thing is that I am thankful that God loves me, has given me salvation through Jesus, and that I have a personal relationship with Him. Ask me anything. I’d love to share.

Hey Dawn,

I found your blog from the Homeschool Lounge, just wondering how do you get started doing reviews of products? I would love to do this and was considering starting a blog as well, nice site

  I’m glad you liked my blog. Thank you. My daughter and I started blogs earlier this summer. She is starting 9th grade and the idea was for it to help her writing. Check out Book Sneeze for books to review. Their link is on my side bar. Products that I have reviewed are from companies with home school or Eco -friendly products. I emailed them with my interest to review. Some have been so fantastic and I love that I can advertise for them.

Good luck with your blog – I admire any effort to address environmental issues. I can’t agree with your support for creationism however..what we need in the face of the environmental crisis is rationality and rigorous science to inform decisions on how we try to stop Polar Bears (and so much more) going extinct like the dinosaurs did, 65million years ago……
