What a cool idea for the color challenged among us… 200 combinations fit for a king and queen and their royal family.
When it comes to decorating, the endless color choices available are enough to overwhelm the most determined home decorator. The Color Scheme Bible solves that problem, and with hardcover sales of 100,000 its value is well proven. This lay-flat paperback edition is sure to be an equally popular choice.
With 200 color scheme ideas to choose from, The Color Scheme Bible is an easy-to-use and inspiring reference to using color in the home. It describes how colors interact and the effects they have on a room. It explains how to choose colors that complement each other for a subdued effect, and which colors and combinations energize a room. The book also includes 50 recommended palettes that can be used with different materials for refreshingly original color schemes.
A few short chapters start the book off with some helpful basics on decorating with color. (color theory, color psychology, lighting) In these beginning pages, color scrapbooks and mood boards are two suggested projects for interior designing that would make for a great home school art project.
The main portion of the book consists of the color palettes. There are nine chapters, each chapter containing palettes from a color family. (pink, red, blue etc.) Every palette page is an organized display of descriptions and suggestions that’s a helpful mini resource of decorating ideas. It’s a great visual tool, perfect for learning how to get an eye for color.
With 200 color schemes in this book, there are plenty of ideas for a decorating project. Choose a color scheme from these included here or be inspired to create some schemes of your own!
No pics aside from one at the beginning of each color chapter. Personally, I’m glad that there isn’t any photos included. This gives each palette page a clean look and allows me to focus on the color and what I would like to do with them.
This is a super idea for a book! I recommend this for home decorating and also for school students interested in interior design or fashion.
