Children love the soothing sound of rhyme! And now they can enjoy ten classic Bible stories retold in delightful read-aloud rhyme in The Rhyme Bible Storybook for Toddlers. From the story of creation (“In the beginning God made the light. The light was for day. The dark was for night.”) to the resurrection of Jesus (“All his friends were happy then. Jesus was alive again!”), this is the perfect choice for parents who want to introduce their toddlers to the Word of God. Newly updated illustrations and classic stories told in vivid verse make this padded cover board book a sure favorite that will entertain young ones and teach them biblical lessons that last a lifetime.
The Rhyme Bible Storybook for Toddlers is a cute little board book from ZonderKidz. The ten stories are 3 or 4 pages long for a total of 40 pages. Writing is in simple, toddler acceptable rhyming. Boat and float are overused end rhymes in one story if I want to be really critical and mention that. Our favorite story in the book is “A Tasty Lunch” about Jesus feeding loaves and fishes!
I love Laurence Cleyet-Merle’s illustrations. The board book’s pages are filled with attention-keeping pictures from this talented European illustrator. I like the realistic depiction of the ark and also the inclusion of ordinary animals (cat, dog, chicken) instead of only exotic animals (tiger, lion, elephant) that are typically shown in kids books.
I’d recommended this book for keeping and/or gifting this Easter.
