SleekEZ was formed by long-time, advanced equine dentist Jennifer Tipton.  Jennifer travels throughout the United States making horses happy, and always enjoys a pretty horse! She is a horse, kitty and dog owner, and lives in Montana where the winters are long and springs are, well, hairy. But, no matter what part of the world you are in, animals shed hair, dirt and dander year round. SleekEZ is one of the best shedding tools on the market and claimed to be better than the Furminator at half the cost!

The SleekEZ is available in three sizes: 10″, 5″, and 2½” for horses, dogs, and cats. They can be purchased separately or together in a combo pack. I tried all three sizes on both horse and cat with great results. I mean super terrific results!

It is lightweight and easy to use. The blade is exclusive to SleekEZ; the tiny teeth does a great job on removing the loose hair. It is made in the USA from “poplar wood waterproofed with a ‘green’ water-based lacquer”.

The SleekEZ is tops for shedding hair. It’s been fun sharing this locally with my horse friends. Everyone is so impressed.

Notes From Dawn received the combo pack from SleekEZ in exchange for an honest review. A positive review is not guaranteed, and all opinions are my own. No other compensation was received.

The Good Dog Company

“Founded in 2003 and based in Golden, CO, The Good Dog Company designs and manufactures a line of durable, earth-friendly pet products priced for the mainstream consumer.”

The Good Dog Company sells mostly dog gear as the name suggests. They do have one hemp cat collar and this is what Cuatro was sent to review.

“Super lightweight and comfortable for cats. 55% Hemp/45% Certified Organic Cotton Muslin is beautifully sewn into vibrant, eye-catching colors. MEOW!”

Cuatro is an indoor cat and doesn’t wear a collar except when adventuring outside. He usually wears a cat harness with leash for walks and so he reviewed The Good Dog Company collar on a few walks in place of his regular harness. He likes the color and the softness of the hemp collar.

Above photo is Cuatro wearing a nylon harness. Below is the new hemp collar from The Good Dog Company.

Since nylon is made with petroleum, our preference would be the new hemp collar. I prefer the style of the harness for cat walks, so I would really love to see a hemp harness available from The Good Dog Company! And a matching leash, too.

Love your pet AND your planet. Visit The Good Dog Company website.

This post is dedicated to Callie, a Canine Angel service dog that recently loss her life in a car accident.

I’d like to start by introducing Pet Auto Safety who has provided the Bergan Dog Auto Harness for this review. Thank you for allowing me to highlight the importance, and ease, of restraining a pet when traveling!

The Bergan Dog Auto Harness product description:

Secure your dog in order to keep him safe and minimize driver distractions. But don’t just use any dog safety car harness. The Bergan brand is the most versatile in sizing and use. Plus it has been strength tested and researched for both a comfortable and safe fit. It is lightweight yet durable enough to meet the V9DT Pet Safety Durability Test Standard. The tether uses a load bearing carabiner so that your dog can be secured in any vehicle with seat belts or any other attachment points such a latch bar or the metal anchors located in the cargo area of most SUVs. Once adjusted, it is easy to put on. The padded chest plate provides extra comfort and safety. Use the pet auto restraint for walking and in the car (car tether included).

Important Sizing Information:
Large fits dogs 50-80 lbs.
1.5″ wide straps.
Neck size fully adjustable.
Girth size up to 40″ around.
Tether adjusts from 12″-24″ long.

This harness is available in small, medium, large, and extra large. Our review was done by Bobo, a Canine Angel in training, and the large size worked for him. Our first time use required a few minutes to find that perfect fit. Daily use is a breeze- it takes less than a minute. We found it worked best when we laid the harness on the ground and let Bobo step into it. Then we pull it up into place and secured it at the top near his shoulder blades. We keep the tether hooked up in the car so when he gets in all we need to do is attach the carabiner to the harness.

The harness and tether both use high quality webbing. The tether piece is adjustable allowing Bobo just enough room to get comfortable but keeping him secure on the seat. The wide padded chest piece looks like it would evenly distribute the force in the event of a quick stop or accident. Be preventive and be safe 🙂

Appropriately restraining a pet in the car is important for their safety as well as your safety and the safety of other motorists.
