Hardcover, 32 page, picture book for ages 2-6, concepts/activities/ art/ animals.

“Guess which animal will appear next based on a tiny hint in the right-hand corner of each double-page spread. Then discover who’s left the page.”

LOVE it. My 2 year old reviewer and I think this is a fun book full of animals. Also good for reasoning and observational skills.

Paperback activity book, 96 pages.

“Math and art, as different as night and day, right? Wrong! This is Not a Math Book shows how math can be beautiful and art can be numerical. Amazing patterns with a mathematical basis will be revealed as you follow the simple activity instructions. And you’ll learn incredible math facts as you draw the beautiful designs. A real eye-opener for kids of all ages with an artistic bent who think that math is dry and boring, while math enthusiasts will discover new ways to be creative.”

LOVE it. For ages 9 and up, so I’ve reviewed this one solo. I’m enjoying this doodle-like book at nap times and I will have to buy another when needed for my youngster. Great home school resource.

Amazing Action Alphabet Flip ChartThe Amazing Action Alphabet is so successful because it takes the abstract alphabet-with its shapes, names, and sounds-and presents it to the learner in terms based on knowledge that most children already have and understand.

About the Amazing Action Alphabet

The Amazing Alphabet Flip Chart was reviewed by me with my 2 year old boy. It’s sized 6 x 9, spiral-bound, with card stock pages printed on both sides. From the See Hear Do Company, I love this approach. For each letter of the alphabet, there is an animal that creates the shape of the letter (see). There is also a story for that letter (hear) and an action activity to include with the story (do). Excellent resource for families.

Other products available in addition to this flip chart so I recommend visiting their web site.

Birdcage Press's Profile Photo

Play favorite games, learn about art , history, aviation , and wildlife.

A “thank you” to Birdcage Press for allowing me to review a few games from their ART category.

ツ Go Fish for Impressionist Artists. Play a game of Go Fish by trying to collect four paintings from each artist. (Other memory games, too) Learning skills include memory, concentration, visual processing, strategic thinking, and art appreciation. A great supplement to your art curriculum.

ツ Art Close Up: Museum of Modern Art. Memory and Old Maid are two of several games that can be played with this deck of art cards. Learning skills include art appreciation, memory and matching, and pattern recognition. I love playing Old Maid this way! Another fun addition to your art studies.

American Art Ditto

ツ American Art Ditto. “Discover America’s greatest artists as you match up pairs of art tiles. Then collect your winnings on 8 art collecting cards that show the beauty and grandeur of life in America”. Having an art collection card where your matching art tiles go is a clever way to add to the classic Memory game. An effortless way to learn the names of the artists and their works.

BirdCage Press offers many more educational games and resources for history, wildlife and nature, art and air & space. Highly recommend! I encourage you to take a look at their site. And to read more about Birdcage Press – a group of five amazing women.

AquaPlay is the original water canal system from Sweden and was developed 1977. Now as ever children of all ages love playing with water. There are plenty of things for small discoverers to learn; the concept of floating and sinking, what makes a pump work, building and construction.

Today AquaPlay canal systems are distributed in more than 40 countries and delight children from 3-6 years all over the world. Both parents and educators appreciate the award-winning toy system as a representative of high-value, quality and educational play with water.

It is a modular system that provides endless opportunities for expansion and rebuilding. The wide range of accessories also helps to stimulate children’s imagination. The AquaPlay canal systems can be handed down from older to younger children, providing years and years of fun and laughter.

The AquaPlay canal systems are produced in Burghaslach, Germany and made of non-toxic, recyclable plastic.
The packaging is easy to recycle and we are constantly working on making the AquaPlay products as environmentally friendly as possible. All our products are carefully tested after the latest standards
EN:71 and ASTM. The CE-mark and the secure three-year warranty is a clear sign of quality.

Smoby AquaPlay Mega Lock Box

My review of the Mega LockBox:

The video links ⇩ pretty much sums up how wonderful this educational toy is!

How to sluice your AuqaPlay boat through the lock

Quality made of non-toxic plastic. No batteries. First time assembly requires rubber seal strips to go in the grooves of the red connector pieces. During play, I haven’t had any leaking from the seal strips yet. I couldn’t say how they will perform after repeated use, but the red connectors and the rubber seals can be purchased separately. Set is expandable and can be used multiple ways.

This is an outdoor toy and a flat surface is needed for it to work- to keep the water level even- especially for a large set. For this reason, we played on the porch. I’d like to come up with a board or something easy to keep it on instead of completely taking it apart to store. Article size when assembled: 152x162x22 cm

AquaPlay sets are a COOL toy for a HOT summer day. I might find other uses with it indoors without water but haven’t explored that yet.
