The original vintage ice bag works wonders because it is body-shaping. And the fabric is soft to the skin. It has a wide mouth to easily fill with water (and ice cubes). It can also be used warm which is what I really like. Warm. Soft. Squishy. All great as a natural relief of bumps, bruises, headaches, migraines, sinus pain, swollen joints and limbs. Odor free and with a leak proof assurance from Blue No. 7 customer service.

Eco Nice: Contains no lead, no PVC, and no latex. Ice bag is reusable. Family run business. Packaging made in the USA of recycled paper.

There are several fabric designs to choose from. Below is their new LOVE style. Enter this Giveaway for your chance to win a Blue No. 7  LOVE bag!

KICK ASS® [DARK]

SWEET • SMOKY • AUDACIOUS
The name says it all: carpe diem, play to win, no regrets. Don’t let this cute little donkey fool you-he plays for keeps. This take-no-prisoners roast is popular with athletes who’d rather enjoy a good cup of coffee than choke down an energy bar before a workout. A great mix of Indonesian and Central American beans that is guaranteed to kick some sense into you.

Tasting Notes: Intense, full-bodied, dark-roasted attitude

I was lucky to get to review Kick Ass®. I classify it as a masterpiece! The aroma from the opened can was superb; the taste was SMOOTH and dark. (I drink my coffee black) This whole bean coffee came freshly packed in a tin container. Love this fresh coffee at the start -or finish- of my day.

I did a review awhile back for the Pick and Draw card game – an art lesson and card game in one. (You can visit that post by searching Pick and Draw in my search box)

Here is a portion of my review:

It’s a simple game that only requires paper and pencil. It is a wholesome family game that flourishes creativity. It can be played alone or with a group. It uses basic shapes so it’s easy enough for little kids but still enjoyable for older children and adults.

To play: pick a card from each category- face, eyes, nose, mouth, and hair – and draw your own cartoon. The parts can be drawn large or small and in any position on the face making each person’s character very unique. Comparing our cartoons was amusing!

Rich Davis, the creator of Pick and Draw, now offers The Big Book of Pick and Draw Activities. This book is a compilation of activities for many more ways to enjoy the Pick and Draw card game.

The Big Book of Pick and Draw Activities is a fun collection of activities that different professionals who work with children have found effective. These 138 pages are packed with great insight and step by step instruction that will be very helpful. And you’ll enjoy thumbing through the pages just because there are over 200 fun illustrations!
There is something for homeschool parents, special needs teachers, elementary ed teachers (helps meet common core curriculum); art educators; creative writing teachers; children’s autism spectrum helpers; children’s grief counselors; christian missionaries; sunday school teachers and youth group leaders.

Each chapter is an activity idea and contains a material list and step-by-step instructions. “Eleven Pick and Draw Heart Messages” is a chapter that can be used for Sunday school, mission trips, vacation bible school, children’s outreach and youth groups. It has eleven approaches to the game that share God with the drawer/player. Love this!

This is suitable for all ages/grades. The Big Book of Pick and Draw Activities is available at Amazon  and the Pick and Draw card game at the Pick and Draw website.

Evenly Rolled Dough Made Easy!

Simply place your dough between the DoStix of the desired thickness, make sure your rolling pin contacts the sticks on both ends and roll away, the DoStix will stop you when your dough is properly rolled.

P1050413

Who couldn’t use some help during the holidays?  Here is a great kitchen product to use for your baking creations.

Each set of DoStix contains six plastic guides for assuring a pastry thickness of 1/8″, 1/4″, and 1/2″. And 1″ thickness by using the 1/2″ sticks on the side. Pronounced dough sticks, this is a made in the USA product that is perfect for cookie making.

They are easy to use. Just place the DoStix size you need on both sides of the unrolled dough. The DoStixs work as a rack for the rolling pin and will allow you to only roll to the thickness of the sticks. Success!

P1050647

I don’t think they’re necessary for experienced bakers; however, this is a terrific idea for those new to rolling dough. New bakers, eager kid-helpers, and young adults can use these guide sticks for “evenly rolled dough every time”.

Thanks everyone for entering!

Congratulations Mary W.

Sequence Num6ers + the family = Fun

The cards have the equations….the game board has the answers. Each card has an addition or subtraction equation. Match a card to it’s correct answer on the board, then place your chip there. Groups of numbers are color-coded to help with number recognition. When you have 5 of your chips in a row, you’ve got a SEQUENCE! Learning math is fun when you play by the numbers… SEQUENCE NUMBERS!

The board has 64 squares with numbers 1-30 appearing 2 times. Use your cards to solve simple addition and subtraction equations and then place a chip on the correct answer on the game board to either build your sequence or to block your opponent. The cards and numbers on the board  are color coded to help with matching problem to answer. The math problems are simple yet some require borrowing and carrying skills.

Plus cards, Minus cards, and Free spaces add to the strategy of the game. This is a wonderful game for everyone in the family. And a great home school game. For 2 to 6 players ages 7 to adult. The game includes the folding game board, playing cards, playing chips and instructions. The complete directions can be viewed on the Jax website.

Thanks everyone for entering!

A TreeSmart Giveaway

JUST FOR YOU!

Last year I did a review for TreeSmart recycled newspaper pencils. I’ll love them forever! And I want to share that review again this fall along with a giveaway for the Start Now Set ( 24 rolled up recycled newspaper pencils) and the Mini Color Pencils in Tube (12 colored newspaper pencils).

The review:

TreeSmart makes pencils from recycled newspapers. What a smart idea! Take a look at the TreeSmart process.

Made in the United States,  TreeSmart pencils keep tons of newspapers out of the landfill and minimizes the cutting of trees.

TreeSmart sent me some to try. They are wonderful!

They are so unique in look and feel. The pencil is rounded with a smooth barrel on which the newsprint is clearly visible. It sharpens easily, actually better than most regular pencils. The no. 2 graphite writes smooth and the eraser is latex-free and smudge proof.

The  mini colored pencils were comparable to other wood-made colored pencils. The set contains 12 colors. The lighter purple color wasn’t purple but more of a flesh tone color and very close to the brown shade.  Also, the two blues are very close to being the same shade. They sharpened nice and the graphite stayed strong during coloring.

I am truly wowed by these TreeSmart pencils! Why would I need a pencil made from a tree again?

Save a tree! Reuse a newspaper!

Enter the Giveaway for the TreeSmart Start Now Set and the TreeSmart Colored Pencils
