 Serious, but Fun.

Naked Binder’s mission is to create the most sustainable office supplies by offering an eco-friendly alternative to the toxic options on the market. We believe that a 3-ring binder may not be able to save the world, but they can reduce the toxic waste that must be landfilled and keep your office and home air better.

Hooray- I’ve used these before and recommend them for school, office, and home use. There are several styles of Naked Binders in various sizes to suit your style or need. The papers and board are acid free. They also sell folders and tabs.

Boohoo-They are not found in stores and so would have to be purchased online. The inside D rings are a bit clunky. I prefer smooth and quiet.

Naked Binders are available in several styles and sizes. My favorite binder is the little plain one (bare board) and the one that I still have in good working condition. (5 years now)

A discount is offered for materials used in the line of work for educators, teachers, and schools. I asked and this discount applies to home school teachers.

ClipBook® Magnetic Clipboard

Designed and Handcrafted in the USA, ClipBook® was created to improve the function and aesthetics of the traditional clipboard. This product breathes new life in to the dying industry of bookbinding. With today’s digital age, bookbinding has become a lost art. ClipBook® repurposes the same process and materials that are used in making books, to create functional and stylish clipboards. ClipBook® is protective, durable, ultra slim, and flips naturally like a notepad. It’s new, yet so familiar.

A tremendous improvement from the traditional clipboard! Magnets replace the metal hinged clip. It has a cover for privacy and protection (as in neat , top-secret papers). Styled like a top bound notepad, the cover can fold back part way or it can roll completely over to the back. It can also stand as an easel.

The strong magnets hold a good amount of paper but it’s also slim and stack-able. The Clipbook is perfect for me since I prefer using loose leaf paper. (hate spiral bound notebooks) (don’t like 3-ring binders, either)

The Clipbook design works. Perfectly.

Available in different book cloth covers. Rubber feet can be used for the four corners when using the Clipbook as an easel.

Designed & handcrafted in Philadelphia. Go to clipbookshop.com and watch the video showing how terrific it is and the many ways it can be used. And get one for yourself. (customization available, too)

Notes From Dawn received a Clipbook Magnetic Clipboard in exchange for an honest review. A positive review is not guaranteed, and all opinions are my own. No other compensation was received.

A TreeSmart Giveaway

JUST FOR YOU!

Last year I did a review for TreeSmart recycled newspaper pencils. I’ll love them forever! And I want to share that review again this fall along with a giveaway for the Start Now Set ( 24 rolled up recycled newspaper pencils) and the Mini Color Pencils in Tube (12 colored newspaper pencils).

The review:

TreeSmart makes pencils from recycled newspapers. What a smart idea! Take a look at the TreeSmart process.

Made in the United States,  TreeSmart pencils keep tons of newspapers out of the landfill and minimizes the cutting of trees.

TreeSmart sent me some to try. They are wonderful!

They are so unique in look and feel. The pencil is rounded with a smooth barrel on which the newsprint is clearly visible. It sharpens easily, actually better than most regular pencils. The no. 2 graphite writes smooth and the eraser is latex-free and smudge proof.

The  mini colored pencils were comparable to other wood-made colored pencils. The set contains 12 colors. The lighter purple color wasn’t purple but more of a flesh tone color and very close to the brown shade.  Also, the two blues are very close to being the same shade. They sharpened nice and the graphite stayed strong during coloring.

I am truly wowed by these TreeSmart pencils! Why would I need a pencil made from a tree again?

Save a tree! Reuse a newspaper!

Interesting name, right? I was sent an assortment of Naked Binders to use & I’m 100% impressed with their simplicity. “All of our eco friendly 3-ring binders are created with FSC certified 100% recycled board (100% post consumer waste). We use no vinyls, plastics or toxins, minimize waste and minimize processing. ”

Naked Binder

Started in 2008, Naked Binder emerged having multiple goals: sustainability, great design, preserving wilderness we love and giving back to education that helped us get here. We designed the strongest, most sustainable 3-ring binders available – cutting waste in manufacturing, processing and travel.  We make our binders, foldersand tabs in Des Moines, IA in the US of A out of FSC certified, 100% post-consumer waste binders board, 100% cotton cloth, a few FSC certified papers and metal rings.  No plastics, vinyls or toxins. We designed our 3-ring binders to look so good you won’t want to get rid of them.  We have everything you might need to impress a client, store your taxes or decorate your office. Naked Binder donates to support wilderness areas and schools around the US. Learning to think and space to think in are important for a better world.

Cobalt & Aztec Gold

Simple, yes. But they are also strong and stylish. They are available in several colors that dress them up to coordinate with your project or compliment your room decor. The colorful spine wrap is made of library-grade cotton book cloth.

In my opinion, the Naked Binders are sturdier than the vinyl binders; the durability will help offset the additional purchase cost. All the Naked Binders use a D ring and are available in several sizes. The Project Binder is also available in a round style spine. Tabs are available to organize your binder; they have debossed roman numerals on them.

The Notebook Binder is a smaller version of the Naked Binder. No color, just bare. This size binder holds. 5.5 x 8.5 paper. I’m using mine as a recipe keeper.

Naked Binder always offers a 25% discount on materials used in the line of work for Educators, Teachers, and Schools. This discount applies to home school.

The Winner Is: Chelesa Sims
