Tranquility: A Prayer and Reflection Coloring Journal invites you to mix creative journaling and coloring into your personal time with God. Prayers that focus on topics such as being thankful, dealing with stress and heartache, caring for yourself and others, listening for God’s leading, and waiting patiently on Him will guide your thoughts and calm your spirit. Filled with more than 100 designs to color, plenty of space for journaling, and 40 needs-based prayers, Tranquility will help you express your devotion to God with your whole heart.

Hardcover, 112 pages

Various subjects in this book include a devotional prayer and bible verse along with space to journal and something to color.

Not fond of the front and back covers which are made of cardboard reminiscent of a composition notebook. The inside pages are a nice quality for writing and coloring. The size (basically 6 x 8) makes it convenient, not too big and not too small. Not my cup of tea, but I recommend it for artsy people of the Christian faith.

Tyndale House Publishers provided this book in return for this review. All opinions are entirely my own. No other compensation was received.

Another art post (ARcTic post) that I’d like to share-

I want to offer ARcTic posts as a way to promote talented emerging and established artists and to share God’s word visually through art. The art that I will feature may or may not have been created from a Christian-minded artist. I want to share it here; to appreciate the work created as well as the talent that the artist demonstrates, always from a Christian perspective.

iusb_760x100.12208266_7ezfDeneika’s collages add a friendly and inviting space for little ones. Paper and fabric are creatively used to make the original artwork. Deneika makes high resolution scans of the originals so that you can decorate your nursery or playroom. She has a great selection of unique art for that “happy” space.

Woodland Animal Theme

Four woodland critters in oranges, browns, and teals.

The wise owl is my favorite.

About Deneika

Hello! My name is Deneika Miller, and I am an art teacher in Ohio. I enjoy painting, drawing, ceramics, and photography. Simply stated, I suppose what I love most about the process of creating art is that it helps me to quiet my mind, tune out life’s distractions, and truly be “in the moment.”

My newest artistic endeavor has been making collages. A few months ago I was asked to make some artwork for a friend’s nursery, and I became captivated with this process of designing characters and then bringing them to life in different layers of paper and fabric. I quickly realized that there were many other new or soon-to-be parents looking for unique art for their nursery or kids’ rooms—something different from what is in many of the mainstream “brick and mortar” stores. I continued making collages and several months later started an Etsy shop called Happy Frames Wall Art, which features nursery, kids’ room, and playroom décor.

Having a baby is such a wonderful event in many people’s lives, and parents put a lot of love and care into creating the perfect environment for their children. I love knowing that my artwork can play a small role in such a happy event. I strive to create cheerful designs that are full of vibrant colors, textures, and patterns to be enjoyed by both children and adults. It is my hope that my art will bring positive energy to any home where it is displayed.

If you are interested in purchasing any of the artwork featured on this ARcTic post, please contact the artist directly.

I’d like to thank Deneika Miller for her participation and for the happy Woodland prints she provided.

Cat Prayer

Now I lay me down to sleep,

I pray this cushy life to keep.

I pray for toys that look like mice,

And sofa cushions, soft and nice.

I pray for gourmet kitty snacks,

And someone nice to scratch my back,

For windowsills all warm and bright,

For shadows to explore at night.

I pray I’ll always stay real cool

And keep the secret feline rule

To never tell a human that

The world is really ruled by cats!
