This is a positive review for bobble, a reusable water bottle with a built in carbon filter, for helping reduce the mass consumption of single serve water bottles.  I found that it saves money, reduces waste, and is a user friendly way to drink refreshing tasting water.

My medium size (8.5 oz.) bobble with a green filter.

Here are some of the things I’d like to mention after using my bobble for a few months. The good being that it contains its own filter which is attached to the sport cap. It is recyclable and made from recycled plastic. It is made in the USA and is free of BPA, phthalates, and PVC. The bobble comes with its first filter and replacements are available. One bobble filter equal about 300 water bottles. The filters come in a variety of single colors and multi-colors !

I have nothing bad to say about it but there are some things that I could mention after using it. First, the sports cap makes a bit of a noise when drinking. It comes with a clear cap protector that I’d consider an easy to loose item. The mouth of the bottle is small so you can’t add ice cubes. And, water is the only thing you can use in the bobble due to the carbon filter. (no ice tea, no juice, etc.)

The bobble design is good for situations that require the need to filter water. If good clean drinking water is usually available to you, then the bobble’s filter design wouldn’t be necessary and a regular reusable water bottle would be fine.

The medium bobble is 9.99 and all filter sizes are 6.99. Free shipping is available on every order over $20.

My recommendations for future bobble designs would be to make the cap a twist open style and the bottle to be stainless steel to be more durable.

As you already know, I’m 100% convinced of the need to use reusable water bottles. I’d love to get you feeling the same way.

Have you seen a MiiR bottle? My MiiR is the classic 600ml/20 oz. in blue. It comes with a black wedge lid. Custom MiiR bottles are also available where you can choose your bottle color and choose your lid color and style (wedge or wingnut).

I love this:

MiiR makes it easy to be eco-savvy. And it turns out that what’s good for the planet is often good for your health. Mother Earth is trying to tell us something. And MiiR is all ears. Lids are made of BPA-free polypropylene #5 plastic. And every bottle is 100% recyclable. You see? Choosing MiiR is a win-win of ecological proportions.

And this:

One dollar of each MiiR bottle you purchase provides one person with clean water for one year. The full $1 donation, all 100 pennies, will go directly to those in need. Clean water transforms lives, communities and generations — and at a surprisingly low cost. Just $20 can provide clean water for one person for 20 years.

MiiR offers everyday free shipping on orders over $40. Pretty terrific. Visit their site and pick your MiiR bottle!

FYI: The name, MiiR, I was told ” was inspired by John Muir, the Scottish-born American naturalist, author, and early advocate of preservation of wilderness in the United States. Also, the Russian word Mir means Peace or World. Both of these influences combined with our own unique branding and design is how MiiR came to be.”

I’ve reviewed for Snack Taxi in the past & I’m happy to be posting about this wonderful company again.

The Sandwich Sack and the Snack Sack are both envelope style sacks aimed at replacing the plastic bag. The exterior is 100% cotton – organic cotton selections available -and the interior is lined with polyurethane coated nylon.  It is easily wiped clean with a cloth, hand wash when needed, or it can be machine washed.  Just invert it to get the smallest of crumbs out of the corners. In addition to sandwiches and snacks, I use one of my Sandwich Sacks for my ice pack to keep any water condensation away from my lunch. A small ice pack can also fit in the Snack Sack.

Made in Massachusetts

Plenty of fabric choices available

I use Snack Taxi products almost daily and I highly recommend them for use in every family as an alternative to the plastic bag. Just one step toward keeping the Earth a cleaner place.

I have been fortunate to review products from two companies. Both are environmentally aware of the unnecessary waste in our day-to-day routine and both companies have taken strides toward the reduction of the plastic baggie.

I have chosen to review both companies in one post since I have been using both of their designs for reusable bags simultaneously. Both companies offer a fantastic product; I recommend them both.

Wrap-N-Mat, a family owned business since 1997, offers a reusable food wrap and placemat in one. The original wrap is 13″ x 13″. It holds flat foods like sandwiches or crackers or cookies. When open, it lays completely flat in an octagon shape. The wrap is folded around the sandwich and then fastened with a Velcro like closure. Since it opens completely flat, it serves as a placemat. This also makes it super easy to clean. There just won’t be any crumbs in the corner! I wipe clean with a damp cloth or hand wash when needed.

The mini pouch is 5″ x 6″ and holds more bulky foods like chips and fruit. It is used the same as the original wrap. I used the mini pouch to keep my lettuce and tomato separate from my sandwich to avoid a soggy lunch. The fabric for both is lined with LPDE food safe plastic that keeps food fresh by keeping the air out. They offer many prints making them attractive for all ages. I wouldn’t have chosen this particular fabric but my son rather enjoyed it since it’s not our typical style. I have been using both of these daily and they have proven to be very convenient. I love having zero waste lunches!

Snack Taxi, another family company, makes its reusable bags from their home-based workshop in Massachusetts. Local sewers create a stylish bag for snacks and sandwiches. They offer plenty of fabric choices for your bag or for a bag that you give as a gift.

The Snack Taxi mission: “to create fun and friendly items that make it easy for everyone to move their food in sustainable style”.

The sandwich sack is 7.5″ x 6″. It is an envelope style sack in that the sandwich goes into the bag and the flap then folds over it with a Velcro closure. Easy to slide a sandwich into. It wipes out easy; I do invert it to get the smallest of crumbs out of the corners. I wipe it clean with a cloth and hand wash when needed but it can also be machine washed. The exterior is 100%cotton and the interior is lined with polyurethane coated nylon. The sandwich sack is a daily must at our house. It is a wise choice for food transportation; a wise choice for the planet.
