Another art post (ARcTic post) that I’d like to share-

I want to offer ARcTic posts as a way to promote talented emerging and established artists and to share God’s word visually through art. The art that I will feature may or may not have been created from a Christian-minded artist. I want to share it here; to appreciate the work created as well as the talent that the artist demonstrates, always from a Christian perspective.

Bud  uses reclaimed wire to create one-of-a-kind, handcrafted, three-dimensional sculptures. Similar to the technique of contour drawing, these wire sculptures are made as Bud uses wire -the line- controlling curves until it becomes a three-dimensional  sculpture. I love the sculpture that Bud created for Notes From Dawn!! Very cool.

What are you looking at Mr. Polar Bear?

Looking…with a Biblical worldview. It’s from a worldview that we derive an understanding, interpretation, and response to the world we live in. Just like the single wire was curved into a shape, bible verses were written for us by God to shape our thinking.

Here’s just a few verses that direct our understanding that the Christian faith is reasonable and makes sense in a world that has lost its direction.

Belief that God exists (Hebrews 11:6); He created everything that exists (Genesis 1:1) and everything is held together by Him (Colossians 1:17); mankind chose to rebel against God in the Garden of Eden and because of that act of rebellion, sin and death entered the world (Romans 5:12-14); and Jesus is the only way to have eternal life and be reunited with God (Acts 4:10-12)

P1060429A hard-to-photograph object but I still wanted to include this pic because I love the special look it gives to landscaping.

All my life I have been an avid outdoors-man and storyteller, as an artist these two aspects of my character join together. I love to create art that shares my observations on the simple beauty of nature and the stories that come from time spent in the outdoors. My art is inspired by nature and reflects my great love for the world around me. It is important that my work not only relay the value I place on the natural world, but also is respectful to the environment in its production.

I up-cycle discarded wire into sculptures creating three-dimensional “drawings” that depict things that capture my imagination. Often these “drawings” are wildlife, insects, or plant life; but they could just as easily be a snowboarder or an old tractor. I enjoy making something of value from material that otherwise would end up in a landfill.

Known as “Mount Myrtle”, this large sand sculpture stands close to the Myrtle Beach Convention Center to mark Monday night’s Republican Presidential Debate. The artists did a great job creating the heads of the Republican presidential candidates, including Huntsman who withdrew from the race.

I think they did a great job on the elephant.
